MELASMA AND HYPERPIGMENTATION

Aerolase® Neo Laser Treatment for

Melasma and Hyperpigmentation

Patients of all skin types can comprehensively clear their melasma and hyperpigmentation with laser treatment. As a multi-factorial condition that can involve epidermal melanin, dermal melanin, and avascular component, melasma typically requires a complex treatment regimen to achieve clearance and prevent a recurrence.

The laser helps patients to achieve clearance with a safe, effective, and tolerable treatment by addressing each of these factors.

The 650-microsecond laser energy is delivered into the dermis and epidermis to break up melanin deposits while shutting down vasculature and inflammation. Due to the unique parameters of the laser energy, treatment is highly tolerable with minimal risk of adverse effects compared to traditional topical or device treatments for melasma.

Management of melasma can be challenging and, with topical agents, may require long-term treatment. Laser, however, can help achieve clearance with fewer treatments.

For accelerated clearance of their condition, the laser can be combined with a peel in a single treatment session.

First, the laser helps to break up the epidermal and dermal pigment. Then, the peel may be applied to speed up the cellular turnover of the epidermis. While laser may be used alone as a single treatment, the combination of these two treatments offers a great “one-two punch” to clear skin conditions.

Treatments typically take 15-20 minutes. Neo melasma treatments are safe, effective, and tolerable for all skin types and all forms of melasma. Treatment may be performed without any skin cooling, anesthetic, and even without the need to touch the skin.
